Photos - Annual Picnic

The members and the Board of the Treasure Valley Wine Society thank Bill and Bev Fraser of Fraser Vineyards for allowing us to have our annual picnic at their vineyard.
The temperatures and the weather cooperated extremely well and our picnic went very well. If you look at the "blog blip" below, you will see what we had to eat and drink.
Everyone had a great time as evidenced by Angie and her husband.

Rhubarb Custard Pie
Here is a good recipe for a rhubarb pie. Not made with strawberries as are most rhubarb pies, but rather with apple - Pink Lady apples, to be exact. Robin makes an awesome Whole Wheat Pastry Flour crust with cinnamon that simply goes extremely well with the filling. You can find the recipe at AFMom's Rhubarb Custard Pie. We got this recipe from an acquaintance of ours from American Falls, Idaho, thus the name of the recipe. Enjoy this rhubarb pie. Cheers!

AFM's Rhubarb Custard Pie - small bits crunchy, good flavor - [try carmelizing 1/4 -1/2 with sugar first -add pink Lady apple bits] - over all well received. Pie crust = whole wheat pastry flour, 1/2 cup sliced almonds, butter, cinnamon, sugar and salt.
Chocolate brownie squares
Blueberry cream pie
Key Lime Pie
Orange Bundt cake
Diverse selections in all categories .. fun and delightful setting ...
Entertainment - Incredible view of vineyards of the Snake River AVA - Hawks flying high in the sky, Bill & Bev's English Setter - and Larry's German Short Hair pup
Good membership turn-out. - Much better than Municipal Park ...

I went in looking for a nice light white wine to take to the Shakespeare Festival last week and I ended up with three bottles!! Patrick at Bueno Cheapo Vino, is the owner, and usually the one there offering amazing customer service...
